We have been really busy lately. Doing what, I don't know, but the month of January has been busier than the holidays were, it seems.
First, Colonel's parents came to town for a visit. Here are some things we did:
Went to Original Pancake House. They have the best pancakes. and waffles. and hashbrowns. and omelettes. and dutch baby's. Everything about it is good. Even the maple syrup. Mmmm...We went shopping, went on a nice hike which over looked all of Phoenix, ate out, ate out some more, played some fierce games of Parcheesi, and went to the Mesa Temple. It was here in which I wish I had my camera, because for the first time in his life, Colonel met another Colonel. I wanted a picture of them together. Darn. The other Colonel was 83 years old, and worked at the temple. I saw his name badge and pointed it out to Colonel. He told Colonel (my Colonel) that he was the first one in his whole 83 years of life that he had met. A first for both (and probably a last!) Kinda cool...
We also went to a 3D Imax movie:
Then the next weekend, Colonel's brother and his wife came down with my favoritest niece Isla. I don't have any pictures with her, cause my camera died (perfect timing), but she is cute.
While they were here, we:
Went to Cabela's. Me and Isla looked at the animals while everyone else went and looked at boring stuff.
We also tried our first red velvet cupcake from Sprinkles:

It was pretty delicious. Probably a good thing that it's not closer, or I'd be there everyday trying a new flavor. Yum.
Me and Steph also spent one whole day searching high and low for just the perfect fabrics for some projects:
We also went out to eat. Here is Stephanie's dainty Mexican pizza, that lasted her for three days of left overs.
We've also made some new friends, who we've done some things with like going to Pop the Soda Shop and choosing from numerous kinds of sodas, among which, we got Key Lime Cream Soda, Ginger Beers, Creamy Rootbeer, Raspberry Lime Rickey, and a few more...
We also saw Fantastic Mr. Fox as well.
Cool movie. Not what I had expected, but unique, and different, so I liked it.That's pretty much January in a nutshell. I'm going to do some resuscitation on the camera, so hopefully next time, it'll be a bit more exciting.
Until then.
Adios.
fun! looks like you guys have been doing some great local things!
