It's been a while.
Here's what we've been up to for the last month:
1. We've been busy since our first vacation over Thanksgiving break. We went Christmas shopping, and to the temple in Mesa the weekend before Christmas. (I'm a little behind on my blog, I know...) While we were shopping in Mesa, we went to this cool restaurant that is in an old organ parlor. The organ is still there, but they made it into a restaurant, and they serenade you while you eat your pizza. The guy played Christmas music the whole time we ate. It was fun!! We also went to the Mesa temple for the first time and saw all the Christmas lights. So pretty...
2. We went to St. George [again!] for Christmas break. And it was FREEZING (like maybe 40 degrees) - (Us Phoenicians-we're kinda wussy now).
We had a good Christmas with the fam, friends, and the dog. We had many laughs playing Balderdash, lots of good meals, and a good time with everyone...
And you realize you're getting old when the highlight of your Christmas is Apple Beer and food storage items (me).
3. I've discovered some new [expensive, and somewhat addicting] hobbies. It started out with the birthday present Colonel gave me - my sewing maching- and so I decided to do a simple project. I made my own bag and it actually turned out like a bag. Miracle.
Then I decided to make something a little (a lot) more intense. It is the first and will be the last one I ever make: My own apron. Cute, but now, since it took me like 40 hours, I don't even want to get grease on it. It's not perfect, but again, it somehow turned out like an apron.
And then I also made a baby blanket:
Over the Christmas break, I also made my first floral arrangement thing:
Expensive, but fun.
My sister-in-law and I are starting a little online business, so when we get it up and running, I will post more things. We will be selling things, such as the baby blankets and bags [both shown above], etc... Anybody want some stuff?!!
Colonel is now in his third of twelve quarters. At least we've finished two.... right....?!?
And by the way. We LOVE the winters here. I think it was about 75 degrees here today. And people were laying out. At the pool. And I wore shorts. Love. it.
that's all for now. bye now.
I think you have officially turned into Martha Stewart. That baby blanket is super cute! where is the fabric from? And the apron turned out cute. OH and HEY, who said that apple beer was the highlight of your christmas? you? Does that mean it sucked haha becuase i did the best i possibly could.....i know kern liked it so it is ok. haha Love ya!!
