We went to St. George last minute, for Colonel's one week break. We had fun, and did the usual... shop, eat, hang out, and visited with Vic and Steph before they moved to Ohio :(
I did take some pictures this time of a hike we took. It was pretty awesome- we miss the red rocks...
Stephanie climbing the rocks with baby Isla in tow. Freaked my right out- Isla too...
In other news, I came back to work my first three night shifts ever, of my entire life.... and it's horrible.
Actually, the staying up part is not that bad, it's the trying to sleep in the daytime with earplugs in your ears, in a bright/hot apartment [cause I'm too cheap to turn the air down], listening to the next door neighbors play their nintendo at a million decibels loud, while the other back door neighbor decides to chain saw his tree down for hours and hours upon end, making his dogs bark, and the other neighbor keeps slamming their front door shut. Oh wait, I forgot about the stupid morning dove that sits by my window and coo's all afternoon long.
Total hours of sleep in the last 72 hours = about 15 (not enough, in my opinion).
the joys of night shift.
off to take a nap....
Haha oh the joys! I have learned quite a few things working night shifts myself...such as:
ReplyDelete1- I never knew I could hate an animal so bad to actually cause it great harm, just so happens that it is also a bird outside my window.
2- My hearing improves ten times while trying to sleep during the day.
3-My body temperature rises 20 degrees while trying to sleep after a night shift.
and lastly-
4- I remember what it feels like to be a 2 year old, I really do cry over spilt milk and tripping over my own foot after working a night shift. Terrible!
Ohhhhh that stinks..... the "lack of sleep" part, not the "coming to St. George" part!!!
